Thank you, do they shut down completely for August ?

I remember most of paris going on holiday in August but I had assumed businesses were still open ?

Thanks

Many go on holiday for two to four weeks in July/august. Some businesses shut for that period, although usually the smaller family ones (shops, etc...). Seeing most French are on holiday in that period business is likely to be slow, so might as well join the masses.

Is there an answer phone message that may indicate how long they are closed for ?

No there is no answer phone message on the garage answerphone, there is on the mobile but its just a standard message from the phone co. not the owner of the phone.

Hopefully have a friend in Paris from early September so will ask him to have a look to see if the garage is even there !!

So far they suggested calling the bar opposite or the shop next door to ask smile TVR owners are a resourceful lot !

Don't know if you're fluent in French, but I'll happily call either/both next week (not called frog for nothing wink )unless someone from Paris on the French forum comes back with some news over the week end..

Thanks

That adress is not far from my office but a quick check on StreetView suggests it is a residential address and certainly not a Garage as we would know it.
It is probably just the registered address of the business owner.
And I confirm that not all French businesses will be back on line till next week in line with the schools going back.

The address you gave was wrong it is 47 Rue Laugier and is a garage show room.
I am leaving the office now and will swing past to see if there is a notice on the door.

OK dropped by the garage. It was a little late for normal working hours but the showroom had signs that it was still in full operation. No signs saying closed till etc etc.

Some nice looking wheels in there but very expensive stuff. Particularly like the look of the white Mustang

Did you try the mobile number +33 6 11 01 21 31

Glad to hear you have made contact.
As I said there is a lot of exotic stuff in the showroom window but I am afraid a 575 is a little above my radar setting being a humble X-flow Caterham driver

Is that the showroom with the Gumpert Apollo in it, near Port Maillot?

It is not the one on the corner very close to Port Maillot but the other side of ave de Ternes. Did not see a Gumpert in there but it is a big showroom with about 12 cars on show
