I have sold a couple of cars with Leboncoin.

A few other pointers. Do not expect any response during August, everyone is on holiday.

No one will want to negotiate once they have come to see the car, they always want to get it over before they view, so be firm with your limits, by email.

Present your car in an immaculate condition exterior, and interior. My guess is that you could get away with a leak in the gearbox provided it is clean.

Make sure you have a long CT on it, offer to get a new one if it's an issue for the buyer (be confident in what you are selling)

And be the first ever private seller on Leboncoin to do it...

Car has to have more than 18 months CT remaining at time of sale.
History is important.
Le Bon Coin is good and free to post.

I haven't used either, but to me aramis looks like a site that doesn't get many visits tumbleweed

Angloinfo + leboncoin ought to be enough. If you're still struggling to get a buyer you could try lacentrale.fr (though I don't think it's free), failing that I'm sure there must be a Golf-specific enthusiast forum/site with a classifieds section.

Aramis tend to sell new cars imported from other EU countries, notably Belgium and Spain.

I think your post was absolutely right, but how do you know about the leak in the gearbox?

They never think to look underneath the car was my point. They rely too heavily on the CT.

Let bon coin is the website everyone uses in France but be careful you might get harassed by companies trying to sell ads online or on magazines or Africans trying to make you believe they're expats etc etc and you need to wore them some money.

You can use: lacentrale or maybe eBay.from

Facebook is an easy way too

The version I got was he was away working in Africa and so would wire the money, a mate then comes and checks your car and presumably says no thanks. You are then suppose to wire the money back only to find the first sum has not cleared after several weeks, so you are down the value of your car.

But it is very easy to spot.

Hi, www.leboncoin.fr is the best site so far, then you have www.lacentrale.fr. For 2 or 3 pics it's free to advertise. On lacentrale.fr you can get a free secondhand car valuation, link: http://www.lacentrale.fr/lacote_origine.php. That might give you an idea on french prices for selling. All the best.

I tried to sell 2 cars via ebay.fr too but only get time wasters or not much attention... leboncoin is the most secured website, no such hassle as you said. It's really secured and controlled to avoid the African's guys to enter fake f.....g adverts. I use the site to sell all sort of thing and always get what I wanted, same when you want to buy. *I already bought 2 cars and 2 bikes via leboncoin and sold them via the same* > WELL AFTER USING THEM few years....
