My French trip - route suggestions
Discussion
Hi folks
I will shortly be putting together some routes for our trip down to the Pyrenees in August and would welcome any suggestions on routes (if not actual roads). We will be in a motorhome which is 3.0m high and 7.6m long. All our campsites are booked and sorted so no issues there.
If you can suggest anything for even a small part of the trip I would appreciate it
Ypres (Belgium) - Le Mans
Le Mans - La Rochelle
La Rochelle - St Emilion (2 nights here so 1 day to explore)
St Emilion - sth of Carcassonne (2 nights here so a day to explore the Pyrenees)
Carcassonne - Limoges
Limoges - Orleans
Orleans - Blighty (Mway on this leg)
Cheers

I would use the auto route where ever possible , you have a couple of 5 hour m way journeys in there that will easily turn into 8 hour stuck behind slower traffic , it will cost more but you will use the time better at your destination .
The pay as you drive toll booths have 2 , high and low ticket printers , i would guess the tag ones are the same , I've looked a berk a couple of times when travelling in a pick up with a truck man top on standing there wondering where the ticket is !

If you fancy a nice day on the beach when it`s too hot in La Rochelle I can recommend a little seaside spot - Fouras - not far away & usual seafront cafes etc
When in La Rochelle it`s fun to sit on the wall at the harbour & feed the grey mullet with bits of bread. Well, I find it fun anyway .....
