Hi, we are looking into moving to mainland Europe from the U.K. We want to rent at first but search engines will only give me results for holiday lets, getting sick of it to be honest as I've tried every search combination going, does anybody know of a decent website?

Many thanks,

Ian

www.pap.fr (private to private).

Click on "Louer" to see renting options.

Good luck with the move!

Kerching! Ta very much, brilliant site. I love the fact if you need a cheap 4 bedroom house weather you rent or buy, no problem. I'm not a skilled worker, I don't even make the national average of 25k a year, there's 5 of us living in a 2 up 2 down, France offers us the chance to live a significantly better life, just trying to grasp the language at the moment, my 5 year old is learning so much faster than I am but I'm getting there. Exciting times!

As other threads have mentioned (and as I have recently worked my way through) in general for a non-holiday let in France you have to produce recent French payslips, French bank account statements and proof of payment of your French income taxes. If you're moving there, then holiday lets or renting from people you know may be the easy option
