Hi All
Just bought a nicely restored 1962 TR4 with all the right shiny bits. Car was on the Czech Republic historic registration scheme and has been de-registered there, so now has no registration number.
I am most likely to matriculate here as a vehicule collection. I believe that I must first apply to FFVE for an attestation, then I can go and get a CT and then to my local bureau des impots with all my papaerwork to get 1993VT, then to the prefecture, then to someone who can make some lovely period silver on black pressed aluminium plates.
First hurdle is completing the 'demande d'attestation'. I have downloaded the form, but most of it seems irrelevant. As there appears to be at least a six week turn around at the FFVE, I would rather get it right, than have them send it back to me for correction. So anyone been through this recently, who can help me avoid giving a french bureaucrat the chance to say 'non'.

I am in the process of doing the same thing with my two. I heard the turnaround was more like eight weeks at present due to the temporary closure of an office somewhere. I just filled out all the info I could on the form and left blank the bits I didn't have. I thought it was priceless they even ask for the bore and stroke! I am reliably informed that as long as the car is a model that was produced in large numbers, which the Triumph clearly was, there is unlikely to be a problem. It's the obscure vehicles that prove problematic. Keep us posted on progress.

Sent all my gumph off today to ffva so the clock is ticking. Let's see who gets there first. Also popped in to my local control technique centre and they confirmed you can't get the MOT before obtaining the certificate of conformity, so that's the cars sat in the garage until then. FUME FUME!!!

You've got the order of play wrong.
1. Quitus fiscal (the FFVE require it)
2. FFVE attestation.
3. CT.
4. Immatriculation.
The FFVE form looks daunting but is actually very simple to fill in.
There is the obvious stuff like name and address, car make and type, VIN etc. but a few bit's you won't know such as:
J1 Genre Nationale = VP
J3 Carrosserie = Cabriolet
P3 Type de carburant = Essence
P6 Puissance administrative nationale = 12
As you know the CV you can ignore the NOTA.
When you go for the CT make sure they give you the 5 years, some won't unless you 'educate them' that they can.
I've registered half a dozen vehicles as collection and it's no big deal.

Si vous avez acquis un véhicule de collection à l'étranger, il convient de nous adresser, à l'appui de la demande ci-jointe, une copie du certificat 846-A établi par la Douane pour les pays hors CEE ou un certificat des services fiscaux N° 1993 VT établi par la recette des impôts pour les pays de la CEE = quitus fiscale
la copie du document d'immatriculation étrangère, ou pièce officielle certifiant que le certificat a été retiré
une photographie de la plaque constructeur, ou à défaut, une photographie du numéro de série frappé
le certificat de cession établi par le titulaire de l'immatriculation étrangère.
If your application was incomplete then they will send it back but they do not check them on receipt so will only find out when they get to it naturally which will probably be 6 to 8 weeks.

That will teach me to read things more carefully. Just looked again and you are right! Have just got back from the centre des impots with certificates in hand and will be scanning and emailing them with letter attached plus copies in the post with covering letter. Hopefully won't incur any more delays than the usual.

My research gives the puissance admin national (fiscal) as 7, not 12. Where did you get 12?

Who are you going to for insurance Russ. I need to insure a 911 too, and getting anything like a classic limited mileage policy has so far proved impossible.
Any more tips gratefully received.

I insured both my Healey and my 911 with TEA Cerede in Paris. Found them to be very efficient and the whole thing was done online and over the phone in a matter of about half an hour. Cost 1200 euros for both cars against all risks including windscreen and Europe wide recovery, which I thought was very good.
