Anyone care to recommend a good mechanic in the Charente who could replace the synchros in an Austin gearbox? Looking for a proper experienced person as opposed to some one who is just "good with cars"
Cheers

Hi !

You could send it down to WG British Racing in Toulouse. If you're not bothered about having a "facture", my dad is near Saintes, he used to be a Scimitar/Triumph/MG specialist when we were in the UK, and works on a few of the British classics in the area.

Thanks. I am not too far from Saintes, halfway between Cognac and Angoulême. How would I go about contacting your Dad?

I'll give him a call at lunchtime to see if he's got the time to do it over the next couple of weeks, and I'll email you his number. Have you got the new sychros ?

Not as yet, but they are easily obtainable mail order from UK. I will source them once we have spoken.
