Morning all,

Mother is just about to go and pick up her new iPad mini, in advance of a few days in France next week. She wants to get a French sim for a bit of light browsing.

SFR website says they do sims with 1Gb for 1week, which sounds ideal, but they don't do micro sims. If it was me, I'd buy one of these and get it cut down, but ma isn't so confident!

Does anyone here have any recommendations for a pay as you go, data only, micro sim?

She's planning on visiting an SFR shop on the way down, and has enough French to understand as much as she would in England... Unfortunately, as this is tech related, she won't understand much, so it would be good to have a specific product to ask for!

Any pointers gratefully received.

I can't see the offer you refer to after briefly poking around the SFR site. Do you have a link?

If they're sold in the shops and she strikes lucky, they may cut the sim down for her if she shows them her ipad and points!

Can't find it again now... irked

The closest I can find is the SFR La Carte - 9.90euro to buy the sim (available in any size), and 9euro a gigabyte thereafter.

The other day I think they had larger top-up options (i.e. 3Gb for less than 3*9euro).

I see that. It seems to be aimed at phones, does that matter? The tablet sim (full size only) offer is quite different.

A ha! Je l'ai trouvé.

Looks like she'll have to get it cut down.

Alternatively, if I read this right, these two are available as nano sims, and appear to require no contract either

Have I answered my own question?
