Finding work and the fact that my French is pretty poor! There are other more complicated factors though.

My sister is living out there at the moment, has been for the past three years. Village is called Boulliac, between Figeac and Decazeville in Aveyron. Love it down there, really beautiful part of the country.

Trying to get any business off the ground in France is like trying to do modern miracles.

It is indeed very difficult. My wife runs a successful wedding photography and videography business over here, but it was hellish In the early years to get going. As fast as you earn it the state and the banks etc take it off you.

A track day club or something similar sounds a good idea. I would be up for it, any other takers?

Ha ha......sold our clio rs last Friday. We are now the proud owners of a Ford B-max,I don't think a Pathfinder is suitable either.
I could buy a shed in blighty for track days.....now there's a thought.

What's a trackday club, exactly?

There's been some "sheds of the week" recently that would certainly be candidates!

At a track day near here in the summer there were four (out of 46) UK reg cars owned by French drivers on the circuit, Maserati 3500 3250?, BMW 3 group A, an AA, and a cateringvan (if I get iiyama right). I chatted to all of them and none of them had any intention of registering their cars here, the AA owner said it would cost him about €4K. Only the BMW and caterham were trailored.

Theorectically they should be re registered but as long as they are correctly insured, have a ct and never return to the UK you'll be ok.
