buying a ski property in france

Does anyone have any views or experience of buying a ski apartment in the french alps? After much surfing I'm none the wiser as to which is better, a resale apartment (2nd hand), or a new apartment, then on a leaseback scheme, or outright.
We like to go twice a year but are restricted to school holidays for a few years now.

We own outright a place in the Drome not in a ski resort but fairly near.
Used at all times of the year including ski trips. Never rented out.
You might find that if you go for a ski apartment type of property that you will only use it winter time as it will be closed out of season. As you can only go school holidays if you do leaseback this might be times that you cannot use the property as it will be rented out this would be something you would need to investgate!
