Hi All,
The In-laws have been told their caravan in the South of France, near Perpignan is too old for the site and needs to be replaced.
As such, they've decided if it's time for a change, then it needs to be a big change so are looking to move sites - quite a considerable distance.
Vendee has been recommended - a lot closer to get too as well which is a bonus.
Can anyone recommend a decent resort and even better, a site for them to look at to site a static caravan?
They don't want to be on a massive site where there's no sense of community, but similarly they do need a family site with pool etc as we all go out there regularly with young children. They'd like to be fairly close to a town if possible - i.e walking distance. Doesn't necessarily need to be on the coast, but near - i.e. 15-20 min drive would be good if not slightly nearer (closer sites appear to be massive!).
Any thoughts?

One of our favourite sites when the kids were small was this in la Tranche sur Mer,

Not a big site, used by some of the major operators and a nice place to be. Easy walk to the town and beach, a ten minute drive up the coast gets you to some incredible expanses of sand. Sure there were some private 'vans on there.
A breeze of a drive down from the Normandy ports as well.

Is it a caravan or mobile home, length and width with or without a terrace, how old is it. I would say that you need to be approaching small privateley owned campiing sites or municipal sites. Chains won't even entertain an older unit, usuall not even a privateley owned one unless they can rent it out in July and August.
