These guys seem quite good http://www.citroen-wrc.com/en

If you visit the http://www.circuit-des-remparts.com next weekend you will see some very nicely prepared historic 911s. They are based near to you and so should have good contacts.

Alternatively I know http://911motorsport.be there is very little that they have not prepared in the historic 911 field so could offer you good advice.

You could try Lionel Guy in Pezens near Carcasson, he runs a couple of Bowlers in the Paris-Dakar.

Thanks Gents.
Anyone a bit closer to home ie Poitou Charente/SW. Belgium and Carcasonne are miles away. The 911 lot must have some contacts as you say. A 911is what I had in mind as a car of choice, pre 74 .

As I mentioned speaking to the guys at Angouleme next Sunday could be a good idea. There are 6 911s entered and they always provide the best racing of the afternoon. Access to the pits is easy so chatting to the owners will be simple.

I am not sure what events you intend doing in France. If you fancy having a car prepped in the UK a friend has lots of contacts through Slowly Sideways. However for 911RS/R Johann in Belgium has unbeatable knowledge and lots of "bits" in the garage. I doubt that something similar will exists in your area.

Thanks for the valuable feed back gents. I will be there on Sunday with a gaggle of visiting English friends nursing their hangovers, so will make a break for the pits if the opportunity arises. A good days racing should ensue.

Did you manage to find a 911 prep. shop between the hangovers?

Sorry for the delay in replying, but in typical French style I have been without Internet and phone since last Tuesday! Still, never mind, they will have an engineer round to upgrade things on the 9th of next month so that's ok then. In answer to your question I had a very informative day at the Remparts. It was marred somewhat by the price hike and all the "pre book" Internet only seating in the "Tribunes" at 100euros per throw! If they play that game they will kill the event as illustrated by the empty seats! 911 wise, still in the balance but better informed than before.

Sorry Russ,

....... been away .

I've known Xavier for quite some time , and you can see from the machinery on the ramps that he's capable.

Of course it all depends on the level of préparation. Best go have a chat some evening.

Have just spent quite a while chatting with Xavier with regard to a potential car I have spotted. He seems very helpful and knowledgeable. Just the kind of guy I'm looking for. The car in question is right over in Lorraine so it's a long hike next week to view. Hope it's as good as it appears!
