Currency Exchange - CHF to EUR - Can I do this easily?
Discussion
I have some Suisse Francs that I would like to change without getting hit hard with fees and poor conversion rates. In the UK I would have to change the CHF to GBP and then to EUR before my trip to Le Mans, each transaction incurring a fee and loss of rate both from selling the CHF and then buying EUR. Whilst in France, is it possible (and a single simple transaction) to change my Suisse Francs for Euro's at any/most Bureau de Change? Advice and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Absolutely - it's what they're for. In most cases there will still be a commission fee (doesn't hurt to shop around, if you have the time), and the exchange rate may be slightly less attractive than the one in the morning paper, but that's the price of convenience. It'll still be cheaper than converting twice in the UK.They'll want to see some form of ID; passport should do.
Just a word of caution though. In my home town of Saumur, there is no longer a Bureau de Change and most banks don't want to take none European currencies.
I can't think of one in Angers, or Le Mans either; since the euro arrived, they all seem to have disappeared.
A visiting friend wanted to change $US and could only do it easily in Paris.
