I am currently investigating the possibility of moving to Grenoble with work, and was wondering what the state of play is with the city, accommodation, schools, generally living in France etc. as compared to the UK.

I am currently based between Reading and Basingstoke if that helps. Any comments or insights would be great.

I think Grenoble is my favourite city in France - and I I've seen most of them. French weather forecasters tend to under-estimate temperatures there in winter, I find. It's not as low as they make out (except in the surrounding mountains of course).
There's lots of on-line forums for info on life here, some better than others. This one is not bad...

Thanks, I am trying to judge if it is worth all the pain of moving country etc. It does seem a really good place to live though.

I really like living in France, although not sure what it is like as a salaried employee.
