Does anyone know of any other UK based (or at least fluent English speaking) motorcycle insurers (other than AXA) that would cover for a bike which is:

1. Imported to France / correctly registered on French plates.
2. Kept permanently garaged at a holiday property.
3. Ridden by the house owner (only) under a UK driving license for just a few weeks a year.

This is quite specific I know, and a French insurer for a French registered bike would be the normal choice, but my French language does no more more than get me by. (My wife speaks better French so I got lazy). If anything did happen the language could get a little too technical for me, so hence would prefer a UK based company, as I have a fear of standing at the side of the road trying to make 'that' emergency phone call to the insurer and failing! Most UK companies seem not to cover anything French registered.

Any steer on who I could approach would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Bit of a bump on this one. AXA came back this morning with a manageable quote (even if over double what I pay in the UK), but they want a 'SRA agreed antivol lock / locking system'.

I am not familiar with this standard, but these look to be €200 to €400 + on top so it is starting to look expensive overall.

Any other suggestions / thoughts would be most welcome.

Perhaps it is worth you speaking with BritLine, they can deal with all insurance matters with Pacifica, the insurance arm of Credit Agricole.

I have never dealt with them for bikes, but they are competetive for cars, and brilliant if anything does go wrong.
