I don't mean snow chains !, but the equivalent of Kwik-Fit etc... aside from some larger branches of Carrefour, I never taken any notice. I need four new tyres for a Citroen 2cv, it's a very old one (1960) but tyre sizes remained the same at 125/80/15 as more modern ones.

The Michelin standard fit are best part of £100 per corner in the UK, and as the car does less than 1500 miles a year and has 25BHP I am happy to compromise !

My lateral thought is that some of the chains may do their own version of that size of tyre, or at least it won't be an uncommon request in France, and I can pick up next time I'm over .... I am in no rush.

Profil Plus; NorAuato and Roady are franchises that may be OK for run-of-the-mill tyres. Margins are probably higher than you might expect in the UK.

For something special, there are firms online that can do a decent price and deliver them to your local garage. Assuming yours has the equipment.

This company is multi-market on-line.

Have used them in the past but only in the UK, but where competitive then. Not sure about margins in France but at least it is easy to compare like for like pricing by market.

I may be teaching egg sucking here, but it may help.
Go on www.google.fr and click pages in French if the option is there. Search for WEARWELL 125 X 15 (that looks like a Michelin X) or STIP 135 X 15 or MABOR 135 X 15 and see if there's a supplier near you. If you want more information on these tyres: http://www.specialiste-2cv-voitures-anciennes.com/...
Around £50-60 each but you'll have to pay for fitting.
