Biscuits de arse! Breakdown in France! Near Rambouillet !

Bad misfire developed on my 2 litre mondeo petrol, 2 miles from the place we've rented in Les Breviaires, near Rambouillet.
Called aa, who have sent some local guy who apparently has no diagnostics, and o way of towing to a ford dealer until Thursday, were due back on weds!

I think it is coil pack, which I can get from a Euro Car Parts place in the UK for 20 quid, if I was back home, I'd stick one on to see if it cures it..
Does anyone know of any larger motor factor chain here in France or Paris area that I may be able to source a coil pack for a ford duratec motor tomorrow and get us back on the road.

AA can stick it up their arse.

Mechanic has just told me he's been a mechanic all his life and diagnoses by eye and ear, has no diagnostic equipment, and he doesn't know what wrong with it! Brill! (!). It's a flipping 8 yr old ford and he cannot diagnose it, only tow it.

Any help and advice greatly appreciated as I know if it goes to Ford, we'll be stuck over New Year with no car!
