Speeds gone up?

Have driving speeds gone (back) up recently?

I ask as I drove +/- 1000 miles last week in Normandy/Loire & to/from the tunnel, quite a lot of it on D roads, & the locals seemed to be driving much faster than last year - almost back how it used to be before the crackdown on speed of the last few years.

Autoroute speeds were up as well, don't think anyone was sticking to the limit this time vs most cars last year.

Has the new government changed attitude to motorists?

No. The law is the same. You got away with it really. The police are carrying out more speed checks etc each year.
