Any idea what you want to spend? Or any facilities required?

I stay here a lot and have stopped in some good ones (when the client was paying) and rough ones (when I had to pay. frown )

Parking is at a premium with most (same as most big cities I suppose) but there is plenty of on-street (limited stay) or underground facilities which can work out quite expensive.

A lot of the ones by the canal on the Boulevard Bonrepos (Dorsey, Icare etc.) have their own shared secure parking at about €10 per day, and are from €60 per night.

If you want to live it up a bit, then the Crown Plaza or the Opera on the Place Du Capitole @ €220 + per night are very central.

Best mid-range would be the Best Western or the Pullman on the Allées Jean Jaurès, though I got fed up with being messed about room wise here.

There are also a few by the Airport in Blagnac, though it's a bit of a God forsaken hole to be honest. Town is lively at least.

Let me know if you need any more info or contacts and I'll see if I can help.

I'm best man for a stag do. Age of stag & guests 40-45, 5-6 in total, idea is to travel over from Bristol on sleasyjet on a Friday evening, watch some rugby (Castres game in March could fit the bill) and enjoy good food & wine without any tackiness & return to UK on the Sunday.
Ideal hotel would be city centre-ish (we can take a bus/cab from the airport to hotel & from hotel to the match) and not mega-pricey (but we dont want to be in a Formule 1).

Any good things to do in Toulouse for a stag weekend in addition to rugby? All suggestions welcome - I will check websites to see if they fit the bill.

Many thanks

In that case, Best Western or the Pullman on the Allées Jean Jaurès as previously mentioned. The Pullman has valet parking (at a price) whereas the Best Western give you a voucher for the underground.

Both need to be booked early to get the best deals, though both are only a 10 minute walk from the Place de Capitol.

Either of the hotels mentioned above, or if you want cheaper then just around the top corner on the Bon Repose, or the bottom end on the Strasbourg. Hotel Victor Hugo is on the Strasbourg and very central (next door to an English speaking sports bar, The Melting Pot)
Directly across from the Pullman as mentioned above, is a small restaurant/bar which is renowned for it's good food. Au Comptoir, though only one of the staff speaks English. As for other things to do, it's a big city (4th largest in France now I believe). It has everything you could need. smile

There are shuttle buses from the airport about every 15 minutes priced at about €10. (Very about, not used them for years.)

Yes, the main square with the town hall and loads of bars etc. Incredible at this time of year with the xmas markets.

I like it. smile Plenty to do, depends on what you want really. Clubs, pubs, restaurants, markets, incredible architecture.

And only a couple of hours drive from Andorra which is a good way to spend a Saturday or Sunday.

I used to go quite a bit with work - Grand Hôtel de l'Opéra was my preferred place. Much better than the Crowne Plaza.

I stayed in the Crowne Plaza for 3 months while working there earlier in the year.

It's a nice hotel and in a great location, they will park your car for you just across the road but I don't know how much as I didn't take my car.
They have live music on a couple of nights a week in the bar so make sure your room is on the 3rd floor or above if you're in that corner.
There's also an underground car park on the same corner of the Place du Capitole so no problems with parking.

The Citiz hotel is quite nice and only a 5 min stroll from Place du Capitole and close to all the bars/restraunts along the Bd de Strasbourg and also in Place Wilson which is 30 seconds away. There's also a Metro staton right outside the door.

Lastly, there's the Pullman Toulouse Centre on Allées Jean Jaurès just another 5 mins up from the Citiz. It's where our cabin crew overnight and we had a little look in there, very modern and swanky but no idea what the service or rooms are like. Parking for the Citiz and Pullman are in bays outside but again no idea if you need to pay or not.

Ah, the Melting Pot!! Spent many a night in there, cracking place.

Also worth checking out De Danu, lively place that does decent food and is usually ram packed at the weekends but pleasantly busy during the weekdays. It's only about ten mins walk from the Pullman along the canal.

Say hello to Sarge for me?

He's the scruffy little AUK person in the corner by the door (actually got his name plaque on the bar now). smile

He usually has a decent watch on him, like a PloProf or something equally un-subtle.

I'm hoping to be there the week of the 12th, but cannot get confirmation yet.

Is the Ibis OK? May give it a try.

I've stayed at the Novotel a couple of times, a short walk from the city centre, nice and clean, decent breakfast and it has underground parking too. It should come in well under budget too, as long as you book in advance.
