Looking for recommendations for somewhere to stay on a Sunday and Monday night next June. Would like a cuvee tour on the Monday, mustn't be too far off the Autoroute, 150 Euro per night for the room. Any suggestions?

That budget should get you a fairly decent room at Château d'Étoges

30kms off the A26.
25kms from Epernay, which is where you want to be for a cuvée tour, but not where you want to stay (apart from the wine cellars, there's not much to do, and it's not a particularly attractive town IMO)

The château also offers wine tour packages (possibly overpriced).

Stayed a couple of times, make sure you take the evening meal as there is nothing around. A charming alternative to a novotel...

Second that - have just stayed there one night with my wife returning from our wedding in Tuscany. Food in the restaurant is very good as well.

If you do stay there, check out the "Ruffin & Fals" Champagne house in Etoges village center (2mins walk from the Chateau). If you ask nicely they will even give you a tour of their 200 year old cellar.

By the way - if you are a real food fan and driving round Champagne - check out "Le Grand Cerf": http://www.le-grand-cerf.fr/

It has a michelin star and I have to say some of the best food my wife and I have ever tasted.
