Place to stay en route to Zurich

I am travelling over to Zurich in a few weeks time and intend to break the outward journey up. I will be aiming to get into Calais at around 8pm and would like to to do a couple of hours driving before stopping for the night.
Can anyone suggest a suitable place to stop? I am looking for something cheap and cheerful like a Formulae 1 type thingy.
