Down this way (Dordogne) some of the Supermarkets rent out vans etc. Also try a plant hire place as they usually rent out vans\trailers etc. You might need to search around for plant hire in Paris though.
The Dutch ANWB keep a number of these kind of cars in France over the summer. Normally reserved for their members, but they might be able to point you in the right direction.
