How awful to lose your wife - and at such a young age. My sincere condolences - I hope you and the family are managing to navigate such a dreadful journey.

I have been to Eymet a few times and had some great friends in Monpazier. It's been a dream of mine to move to that area and we often talk about it....

I would be very interested to read (if you had the time) about living in Eymet and the comparisons to Cheshire.

The very best of luck with settling back in the UK and, once again, genuinely sorry to read about your wife's death at only 52.

I used to live in the dordogne and now live in a Cheshire post code , I was a good hour from eymet but i used to call in there on my way to and back from north Spain .
The main thing you’d notice is more people speak English in eymet than do in Cheshire !
Im joking obviously but it is an English hub of sorts , there was even an English shop .
Lovely place , mind most places around the dordogne are but it does actually rain a lot over the winter .

I stood at Bergerac airport more than a few times listening to the Liverpool flight overhead on a Saturday morning , hoping it would land but in reality knowing I was in for a long ride out to pick up my wife from whichever airport they could land at .
