The bilateral healthcare agreement between the UK and the Channel Islands ends today.

I heard from a colleague that the Isle of Man is to follow suit in the next year or so - has anyone heard anything similar?

i guess they got fed up of paying for sick uk citizens over there, pretty stupid move imho it means the insurance for going there, will be the same as places like the states, making too expensive for the elderly, who lets face it are the main visitors to an island which tourism is an important industry.

The fact that the nhs offers free A&E treatment for anyone no matter what country they come from ( you only start paying if you're admitted) shows how important health cover is for the elderly tourist
