For fmads sake!! I want to tax my car as of 1st April and the website and phoneline say it will be from 1st March!!! Am I missing something here???Or am I losing the plot! Surely I can tax my vehicle two days in advance! Am having a bad day so please be gentle with me if I am missing something glaringly obvious!LOL.

It might be that your existing tax ran out at the end of fab and you have not submitted a SORN. HTH

It gets impossible unless it is anything other than a continuation renewal.

Tax is always applied for whichever calendar month you are currently in. So no, you have to wait until April.

You are taxed as soon as you do it online.

Just print the receipt off in case you get stopped.

You are taxed as soon as you do it online.

Just print the receipt off in case you get stopped.
And get done for failure to display a valid tax disc...

You don't. wink

DVLA info

There is no specific menion of SORN in that press release but when I needed to do this I contacted DVLA and they confirmed I could drive the vehicle (preferably with an expired disc on display) whilst I was waiting for the new disc to arrive.

I printed off email confirmation of new tax and carried that and my SORN letter around with me until the disc arrived.

No issues whatsoever. smile

nono

It amazes me how many people are not aware of the current/correct "rules".

I think you will be fine without a disc as long as it's paid, since it's all checked digitally now.
