Everyday pointless phrases

After finding a lost camera today, I found myself saying a rather pointless commonly-used phrase:
"It's always in the last place that you look".

Now obviously that is rather pointless, because what is the purpose of continuing to look, once you've found it....

Anyway, it got me thinking, what other meaningless or pointless phrases are unwittingly used in everyday life?
I haven't managed to think of any further, so thought I'd open it up to the daytime PHers

I like to dispel common sayings, so after I've found what I'm looking for, I always look in two more places.

I also randomly hate like, the random like misuse of like the words "like" and "random".
And people who exclaim "So" in an american style...

Not really nonsense phrases as such, just people who can't learn the basics of sentence structure - very annoying.

Pretty obvious if you dropped the "of mine".

Isnt it supposed to be "It's always in the last place that you would look"?

Meaning, it's always in the most unexpected place?

..feed a cold, starve a fever.......does that mean you should eat lots with a cold, but not much with a fever, or if you eats lots when you have a cold, then it stops you getting a fever?
I'm sure, medically, that both approaches are questionable.
