Apparantly we all have to switch off all our lights/electricity etc at 8:30 tonight because of a climate change protest:

Another example of useless bks nobody will pay attention to, but who, like me, is going to be as wasteful as possible in that hour?

I think it'll be a round of Gran Turismo on the biggest TV in the house, with a power sapping surround sound home cinema system turned up until the windows will take no more, with the lights on full blast in every room, and The Chain being played constantly at full blast on the hifi, while I make a cup of tea.

Can anyone else beat that?

I'll be at work, but I'll make sure that all 25 monitors, all lights and the TV on. I will also open all the windows and turn the a/c on max.

I might even charge my 'phone and my iPod at the same time. eek

That'll teach 'em.

Good man, keep up the good work. I'll be turning on every light and electric appliance in the house.

This really is getting out of hand now, isn't it. It's kind of like Stalin meets "The Emperoros New Clothes". This great wave of self-righteousness, the way that the brainwashed talk to you condescendingly if you don't believe in their great cult.

I wonder what future generations will make of this great con?

If it's a nice warm evening I'll be out in my air conditioned garden burning tyres in the bit of forest I cleared. If it's cold I will fire up my (leaded) petrol boiler, put the TV on then take Range Rover out for a spin.

More points still to anyone who can ruin an otherwise dark area of town like a tower block or a street, with an extravegant waste of electricity!

The only rason this will work so well in Sydney is because they know how to party, so they'll all switch the lights off and sit outside (in the warm) with candles, beers and barbecues and make a party of it.

So in essence, this is Oz's way of having a massive outdoor party whilst laughing at us shivering in our lounge's with tartan blankets over our legs. Fair play to 'em.

Its still a load of ballcocks though and at least we all know thos trying it are fools.
