alright ladies and gents,

Im not sure how many poker players there are in the PH massive, but i would just like to express my thoughts of how im believing it to be a complete stitch.
I have been playing for a few years now and i have noticed that whenever you download new software from a new provider, your game always seems to be set up for you. Meaning that the odds seem stacked towards you and you seem to run hot for a few hours, allowing me to have a good run then cash out my winnings.

Then for some reason, when you have been playing on that particular site for a while, everything seems to change. All hands seem impossible to win, regardless of how good they are compared to others in the hand and im fed up of my opponents hitting "runner runner" all the time mad

Anyway my point being i do feel that the game is initially rigged to try and "suck you in" if you see what i mean.

I dont class myself as a professional player and i only play within my means. Poker should be a hobby not an obsession. I think im just going to stick to the home games with the lads from now on! cool

Has anyone else had a similar experiance with this?

100% agree - on-line poker is extremely dodgy.

My mates and I only play home games now, or the odd trip to a poker club in London.

STAY AWAY FROM ON-LINE!! ...trust me on this!! laugh

Yeah me too now. I live very close to a certain casino where they have a fantastic card room and a nice array of cash games and sit and go's to play. Its actually a good night out aswell. smile

Anyone that bets real money in online Poker or any other online electronic medium is a fool - plain and simple.

Unlike a real card game where there are real cards, it is just a piece of software that is designed to lull the idiot into a false sense of security by paying out now and than, and then it claws it back. The odds are not decided by the players' skill, they are decided by a number of differing factors, which include:

  • How long since you started under that log on name
  • How much it has given you
  • How much overal profit / loss the system has taken and lost
  • The cycle point in its win / lose program
There is no skill whatsoever as when the computer decides it needs to meet its programmers fees, it just takes the cash by dealing crap cards. You cannot ask the computer to show its hands because it doesnt have any. All it has is a program which is designed for one purpose only - to take money from idiots.

As someone who provided covert security equipment to the Home Office to find out, I can tell you it it's not!

I agree, the cards and how many times each card comes out is regulated and you can request statistics on this from your poker site (I recently did with Ladbrokes). The thing is with online poker is that it's such an easy scape goat to say it's 'rigged' when you lose - it's just you the player that is losing no one else's fault.

Why would the poker sites rig the cards, when no matter the outcome of any hand, they make money from rake?

When players are hitting runner, runner it is unlucky, but they are the best players to be playing against, as in the long run they will not hit and you will take their money.

Total nonsense, why would a plc company such as ladbrokes with a good reputation worldwide rig anything. They will win anyhow without fixing it. Casino's make money without rigging it.

How do you spot a crap online poker player in a forum? They're the ones claiming all the games are rigged.

Do you mean real online poker? Or do you mean electronic poker?

Because real online poker, against real people, is not rigged. The companies get their money from the rake, not how much you lose.

Do you think these companies would exist if they were lying? I work for an online gambling company and the gambling commission are VERY hot on checking the legitimacy of any claims we make.

There is no way on earth it is rigged if just 1 company was found to be rigged the hole online poker industry would collapse and that would mean a loss of millions probably billions worldwide by all the different providers. Why would they risk losing everything when they already make a fortune without cheating, answer me that HSV, Payner?

dont get me wrong, i agree with everything you say. i wouldn't still play online poker if i thought i was completely rigged, i just get annoyed sometimes because it can come across that way sometimes.
i only wanted to know if someone else has had similar online experiances.

i still much prefer live play though

SS HSV the guy who posted saying he knew it was rigged because he has installed some cameras in the Home Office what that has to do with online poker beats me thoughconfused

I used to play online a hell of a lot, tbh it became a bit of an addiction lol.....In the long run i'm well in profit but like you said above i just started seeing so many bad beats and miracle river cards and my wins becoming less frequent i decided to pack it all in i now only play home games and occasionally the casino much more fun and just as profitable smile
