Just wondering what your opinion on dress down is considering the G20 on the 1st.

All been advised by the media to be as discreet as possible so suits are a no no.

I do not really have smart trousers and usually spend the weekend in shirt, smart levis and timberland shoes.

But we are not allowed to wear jeans.

Dress down for me usually involves losing the tie! tongue out

To blend in with the protestors you should have stopped bathing a week ago I'm afraid.

I can see it now, the City awash with blokes in chinos, polo shirts, deck shoes and a pullover drapped loosely around the neck - that'll fool Swampy and his mates into thinking that they must be in the City to help smash the system...

So it isn't dress down at all is it really? Why not go in black tie? After all that's dressed down from white tie...

Suit and shirt but no tie seems to be your only option.

Are the no chinos/no jeans rules not relaxed for this? I'd ring in sick wink

I'm not in docklands anyhow but slap bang in the middle between two RBS buildings. One of which has been targetted twice.

Leave a suit at work on the 31st, come in on the 1st in jeans & t-shirt or whatever, change at work.

I'm going to wear a suit as normal. I'll be in the office before they're out of bed and last time they were far too busy smashing up McDonalds to bother me on the way home.

They've relaxed all rules here, we'll be in full dress-down mode on the 1st, although I am quite tempted to come in wearing my super-fine 150 pin-stripe and pink shirt.
Mind you, I would be annoyed if one of them scuffed my Church's. Maybe I'll 'dress-down' and wear my Jones shoes in on that day!!
