Could be genuine. I wouldn't question it in case you get slammed for some violation of privacy!
How can he be slammed for violation of privacy? - You're going to tell me Google Street Map can see your car reg plate next! I'd bag it for use against them at a later date.....

Could've been at the hospital this morning and got an early release?
I've not doubt he went, but as a outpatient appointment - he should've come back in.Anyway, fk it - it's the weekend and I'm off home!
or, he could be thinking like you are...

However, would you want to delve into someone’s private affairs as to what they were doing at the hospital, and why they got home at 1600hrs (local time)

My working day for example finishes at 4pm. If I got back from the hospital at 1300, ate some dinner until say 1345 and then drove the hour to work i'd get there an hour and a quarter before I was due to finish. Pointless. If my boss started waving screen prints from Facebook around i'd seriously question his person management skills and think he is a right dhead.
Or would you have been able to squeeze a whole two and a quarter hours out of them until 5pm... Remember that a happy workforce is a productive workforce before lecturing about someone about taking the day off because, god forbid, they are ill. They might need the afternoon to come to terms with the fact the hospital have told them they have cancer for all you know!
PS. To my boss. I'm on nights so this is my own time.

Well, if he left home when he posted on Facebook, he could've had 4 hours productive time - remembering this is month end, so the busiest time.
It's an ongoing treatment - that will apparently be every Thursday for the foreseeable future - so add up 4 hours a week for X weeks - and it's a fair bit. he did it last week too, but didn't post on Facebook
Anyway, words will be had on Sunday.

I'd say it's petty and you don't know what they had doing at the hospital. There are many procedures where an afternoon off is recommended. It's not like he's taking a huge amount of time off either.
Leave it I'd say or you'll come across as a bit of a wker and you'll lose goodwill from him.
If he's lazy and a bad employee in general then reprimand him for something worthy, if he isn't then surely give him the benefit of the doubt.
