What kind of tt fits a backbox 16mm deep for a light socket in a brick wall
What's the easiest way to fit a deeper box, chain drill and chisel? If so, anyone got any top tips so I don't damage the existing plaster?

Why didn't you buy dimmers that fitted in standard plaster depth boxes?

Chances are you'll chip the plaster getting the existing box out.
Drill and chisel.
Best of luck
I had a horrible feeling that was the answer. I'll cut round the plaster and fold the old box in on itself before I try to take it out.Drill and chisel.
Best of luck
9mm, why do I think it's gonna be a bd.
I used something similar to this but ours was plain so I could paint it.

From B&Q £1.90 ish
I should know better than post something without a full explanation.
The reason I used the surround was because I fecked the plaster right up trying to dig out the back box it was removed once I got around to redecorating.

You can mix and match the faceplates.
