Given the choice what time would you prefer to work:

Personally, I would like 10:00am - 9:00pm.

Apparently there are;

Type A people wake early / sleep early

Type B people; wake late / work late

Just wondered how the split is on here

Up early, get to work, get it bloody over with.

When I was on industrial placement as a Design Engineer, this suited me well, in for Half 7, on my way home not long after 4.

In my current 'retail' type role, I dont start while 10ish, but Its often near to 7 by the time im heading home.

I fecking hate it.

I am now done with education and looking to get my first 'career' type job back in manufacturing/engineerig, where it looks like (thank god) ill be on early starts, early finishes, monday to friday.

11hours????? frown

I have to do 7.5 hours a day and ensure I am in between 10am and 4pm but other than that we're pretty flexible.

I usually do 8:00 am till 4pm, but if I can't be arsed to wake up some mornings I can stroll in at 10am.

I currently do 9-5/5:30 but would rather do 8-4 as it'd give me more of an afternoon/evening.

Did you see that programme on the other week about body clocks? Apparently the body is at its best/most productive mid afternoon onwards.

I'm going to ask my boss if I can have longer lies in...........

If I'm getting paid the same, no matter what times I work, then I'd do 12:00 to 12:01 wink

However, if we're talking about getting paid on an hourly basis, then my normal working day is 07:30-19:30, but I'd prefer to start at 12:00 instead.

Unfortunately if I start at 12:00 I'd still be finished at 19:30 and end up losing money. Due to the 'lag' in the system you usually don't see me working much between 07:30 and 12:00 anyway, although I still get paid for it.

I'd love to do mid-day to 9pm, that would suit me down to the ground.

My clients might not find it so helpful though, although some of the foreign ones could find it helpful.

I work 8-4:30. I like the extra hour or 2 in the evenings, gives me time to have a crack at fixing the car etc.

Besides, the other half gets up at 7, so I do too. If I started at 9, i'd waste an hour watching crap in the morning.

I would rather work 40 hours spread across 3 days a week, I don't care about what time. What pisses me off is having to work 5 days! I'd gladly do 5 hours for free if I could work my week over 3 days.

I'm not really fussy, but I'm not keen on 9 to 5. I'd prefer to either work early or late so that there is some usable time in the day either before or after work.

In an ideal world I think 4 long days (i.e. 8:30 to 6:30) rather than 5 normal ones would be great.

No fixed hours, no fixed days, in terms of preference I like to do routine admin type stuff early morning and leave anything less structured or with a creative element to the evening through late night.

Are you mental?

My start time depends on how far away our first delivery is, so anything from 0400 to 0600, usually. Our finish time depends on how quickly we get all the deliveries done and get back to the yard. "Job and knock", as I believe it's called.

It's very rare that we finish much after 1400.

Oh, and by the way, you appear to have the words "do you" missing from your thread title.

HTH.
