You could get on the Piccadilly line at Hounslow West, this is closer to the M4 than West Ruislip . Get off at Leicester Square, Covent Garden or Holborn.

Only down side is Hounslow is a bit of a dump and Ruislip is nice.

You could also use the Metropolitan Line. Park at Hillingdon or Ickenham. Met line has faster trains but you will have to change at Bakers Street.

I normally park in Slough and catch a fast train into paddington, but if you're staying overnight, I'd probably park near Iver station as the local roads are free and the car will be safer.

- no parking at the hotel, usually catch the train.

- city meet - may make it along, depends on how the work drinks go. are there plans to go for a curry or something?

cheers for the help

You may not find any free/safe local parking in Hounslow. That is where the Ruislip option is better. There are plenty of residential roads around that are close to the stations.
