Oops... I noticed my boss had sneaked up behind me (crafty sod) and I saw him all to late, I minimised the window...ONLY FOR ANOTHER ONE OF PH TO BE OPEN BEHIND IT! D'OH! He wasn't impressed, he even went so far as to talk to my line manager!!!(thankfully he is sound and just told me to keep the window small!) Especially as I've been noticably slack due to my impending departure from the firm.

Whats the worst reaction you've had from your boss after being caught on PH whilst you are supposed to be working?

The only response I have ever got when caught was

'oh, if you go into there and find that thread there are a load of pictures of my Griff'

We then spent about 20 minutes chatting about PH and his car.

a) That was your first mistake - makes you look guilty. Keep it open, wear your slackness with pride.
b) Why do you care what your boss/line manager thinks anyway then?

I honestly don't think I've ever had any reaction to websites being open on my PC, but then I am a fierce advocate of (a) biggrin

RE: b) They still owe me money and a nice redundancy package that is based on my coming to work for the duration of my notice period. frown

I just like how you're further risking getting caught again, to let us know you got caught in the first place biggrin

Leave it open all the time along with Flickr, Sky News and have a movie or pron on the tv biggrin Also have feet up on desk and coffee in hand. He just walks in, asks if everything is on and if I say yes then he walks out again.

Not my direct boss, but I got caught looking at PH on a customer site back in about 2004.

The senior bloke there wasn't impressed at all. To be fair to him, he asked me in to his office, said he was paying a lot of money for my expertise and whilst he was all for relaxing at lunchtime, he did not expect to see me on it during the day - all good points, I guess.

He also checked back against his proxy server records, so I got busted good and proper.

I never look at non work related stuff on sites now - clearly you never know who might be watching.

I am the boss. I read PH whenever I like.

On client sites? I wouldn't consider using their Internet connection for anything not directly related to the work I was doing on the day.

Lunchtime relaxation? At a client site I almost never get to stop for lunch.

I am the boss, and have never told myself off for PHing when I should be working. I might do one day though if I start getting too slack.

Thank god for "windows key" + "D" (show desktop) minimises all your open windows at the same time, often called "boss mode".

Got caught by my boss' boss playing online poeker...
He looked at me, I looked at him.
He moved on, I proceeded to hose my money due to my usual lack of discipline and the amateur's mantra "It's the price of entertainment)...

So you are leaving soon? I can't see them being too shocked that you are not working yourself to death in your last weeks.

It's quite slack here, we can look at it all day long if we like.
