Cheapest way to post a book within the UK
Discussion
Annoyingly eBay restrict the amount you can charge for postage on books to £2.75 for some reason So, does anyone know the cheapest way to post a book weighing 1.4kg to someone within the UK? Not fussed about how long it'll take.
Someone mentioned something about "printed materials" being cheaper but I can't find anything on the Royal Mail website.
cheers

I was thinking about this the other day, I bought a book off Amazon (hardback) and it cost me £0.01 + £2.75 postage, a total of £2.76.
It weighs over 1kg and I can't find a postal service for less than that. First class would be £4.30 and standard parcels is £4.20.
They must have an account set up.

I can only think that eBay book sellers do it for a tax loss!
Fine for retailers, but I'm not! I don't have an account either, so have to pay the normal fees. Seems I'm not alone in my annoyance:http://forums.ebay.co.uk/thread.jspa?threadID=1100...
So I guess this is just another thing eBay do to piss you off!
