After a rather diaappointing baked potato, it got me thinking, does anyone actually enjoy the meals provided at their work?

The best canteen I've ever eaten in, anywhere, is Computer Associates. It is mind bending.

Other than that VWG at Blakelands is pretty good.

IBM Southbank used to be pretty good, not been there for a few years mind. We have a Costa at ours which is nice, but the main food bit is a bit iffy. Soup is always the same consistency as cattarrgh (sp) for some reason.

I worked at Rolls Royce test beds in Eastkilbride and the canteen was ace.
The wee women in the canteen asked everyone each day what they wanted and done her best to make everyone what they wanted.
Only a handful of people working there mind you but all said and done she could have made everyone a baked potato.

Bless her!

My mess is superb.

If I have lunch there, I pay £1.22 for a full 3 course lunch.

Can't fault it.

PWC's old office, Southwark Towers had a great canteen/ restaurant. the place is a pile of rubble now, awaiting 'the shard'

Its not bad! Bit of a mess and some bugger gets toast in the butter most days... but I can go in there naked (not linked in anyway to the butter remark)

Its my kitchen.

"Rob The Knob" provides tea untill it comes out of your ears for £1 a week here on site, and he always makes sure I have piping hot buttered toast first thing in the morning.

Other that that I wouldn't trust anything coming out of the welfare hut.

Brilliant. Work at Freshfields on Fleet Street with a subsidised restaurant.

I tend to go for 1 of the 2 choices of Freshly made healthy soup mostly for under a quid, and good choice of freshly made sarnie or bagel.

Hot food also good.

Of course we're a law firm, it pays them to keep the staff near their desks and able to bill smile

I remember going to McKinsey's canteen at their office just off Picadilly Circus a few years ago. Great food, all free, plus free beer on Friday lunchtimes biggrin
