Well, demand for fuel is pretty inelastic in economic terms so lumping tax on it doesn't really deter it's use too much (apart from when firms start going bust as this helps tip them over the edge). The one-eyed snot-gobbler and his vulcan friend will be milking the motorist, as per usual, to pour down the black hole that is our finance sector.
