My children go to what has become a Community College since it became one of the BSF schools in the area, it has a shiny new building and such like.

Today the kids have come home with a leaflet saying that the school wants to become a Foundation School and aquire a Trust.

Now not being all the clued up on school politics and such like, is this a good thing?

The leaflet doesn't seem to say that it is, but then it doesn't say that it isn't. It says they will still get funding from the County Council, they already have a collaboration with the local 6th Form College and the local RC High School, it says there will be input from the new campus in town for UCLAN and also have dealings with the local NHS Teaching Trust and a local Aerospace company. So I am assuming that they will receive money from the NHS Trust and the aerospace company.

If anyone knows anything about this type of thing, or is a school governor or a parent whose school has done this, can they give me some information please as I really don't know what to make of all this. And I am getting sick of the way they keep changing things for the kids!

Many thanks
