I believe there are around 1 million foreign nationals working in the UK. I also believe there are 2 million Brits working abroad.

It goes both ways...

Edited to add, no idea if this is true or not, but there are a lot of us working away!

It's not a significant amount. I suppose when things are on the edge already every little bit of money matters but immigrants have always been here sending money home it's not really an issue.

I agree. Sure, money's being taken out of the country but Clown's doing a better job all on his own.

That's right. The 3,000,000 unemployed are all immigrants.

Not.

Mind you, what the workshy British need is a good kick up the arse, and scrapping the benfits culture woudl be a good start.

If anything, I'd say the levels of immigration have helped us. People came here to fill much needed jobs that the English couldn't/wouldn't do while the economy was strong and now that it's weakening and jobs are getting harder to find, they're leaving again.

Maybe.

We as a nation are bloody lazy , the way these immigrants work should put us to shame but sadly it doesnt we just think they are so stupid .

While speaking to some mates I came across a plumber ( my age 24 ) he done 2 years in college and finished in 2007 fully qualified . He has no work and was offered £100 day for full 8 hours daily on a site , to which he replied "IM NOT POLISH MATE " I kid you not

In his position I'd have taken the work at £100 a day. Not a huge sum but being on a site = materials supplied, just bring your tools and get on with it. He wouldn't even need a van.
