Just noticed train tickets being advertised on PH'slaugh some advertising exec is worth their weight in gold. They have obviously researched that well and know how much we all love public transport.

topical for me......

1. I got wasted on Friday night by accident - so obviously left my car at work in London......got train home. It cost me 18 quid for the train ticket!!! then 65 quid for the taxi back from Havant after I woke up at 2am.

2. Had to come back in on Sunday to get my car
A: Left my house after 10am....15 minute walk to station
B: next available train 11:36 - how convenient I thought as I sat on the platform for 40 odd minutes with a hangover.
C: train takes over an hour to Waterloo - seemingly stopping everywhere
D: then I need to get a tube to Bond Street
E: then I need to get a tube to Acton......but the tube i'm on stops early for no reason and I have to get off - apparently
F: 10 minute wait.......then get tube to get my car.....

time taken = 3.5 hours and this was on a SUNDAY! God knows what its like during the week with the rat race.

It is 57 miles by car.....and can be done in 1 hour and 1 minute without breaking the speed limits.....(on a Sunday)

I arrived at my car having wasted a whole morning, and feeling like crap as i'd been thrown around constantly in these horrible machine that seem to being driven by a chimp with no co-ordination.

Oh and it cost me 18 quid back to Waterloo - and then whatever the loser cruiser charges - maybe 3 quid? so 21 quid.........

brilliant. I will never, ever, ever give up my car or motorbike. Ever. I don't care how much they tax me......I will drive until the day i'm no longer medically able - and then I won't go anywhere.
