Let me guess... ITV.

No doubt there will be a range of commemorative plates too, available exclusively via TV Times magazine.

In that case, I stand corrected, and you can close the thread.

"Speaking on Sky News, Reverend Jonathan Blake, who officiated at Goody and Tweed's marriage ceremony, called the bride, "a saint from Upshire and a princess from Bermondsey".

Oh FFS.

Funny enough, there was a p**s take comment on here the other day suggesting that Mr Brown would be on TV offering condolences etc.. and then what do I hear on the news last night??!?!? I mean, does he seriously have nothing better to do right now?

Don't we have less public holidays than the rest of Europe? Ideal opportunity to create another.

Hang on a minute...

A Reverend calling her a saint?? WTF? Have they reduced the qualifications required for canonisation while I wasn't looking?

I read somewhere the other day banging on about how much she's done for women. But I don't really see that she has, other than by promoting *herself*. Not "get smear tests", not "please don't let this happen to you, get yourself checked". Just "I want money for my boys". While this is an admirable sentiment and I understand why she acted that way, it isn't exactly championing the cause of all women.

It's terribly sad that two small children have lost their mother, but let's not get carried away here. Televising the service? This should be a private time for the family. Not another media spectacle. The papers should do the decent thing and leave them alone. And the family should have the decency to request privacy.

The cult of celebrity really is obscene.

I am not going to make any more comments on this because, apparently, even if you feel sorry for her and her children, you are still an insensitive b*stard for suggesting the media coverage has been completely and utterly over the top for a person who contributed nothing of decency to society.

now thats a lie.
i couldn't stand the women, yet if one of your closet female friends gets her self checked because of the increased light on cervical cancer, then i think it will have been worth it.

Do you think she wanted all the coverage to save other people, or was to line her kids pockets? Both are admirable, but I don't think for one second she gave a toss about other people.

I am very sorry for her children that she's dead, but I will not be writing to the Vatican asking for sainthood on her behalf.

I agree, I can only hope that, with the demise of its figurehead, it will act as a swan song to the obnoxious ‘cult of [anti] celebrity’ Perhaps with the hard times ahead, and people are forced to revaluate what’s important in life, it may well be – one can only hope….

oh no, i totally agree with both your points.
all i was mentioning was that if as a tangent to the media whoring, friends/family are saved, then i'll happily turn over/ignore the papers while it continues.
Someone calling her a saint would IMHO be a *gushing fool* copyright Munter

Holy moly. How many more threads on a unfortunate girl who has died.

People!! GO out for a walk, read a book, take your kids to the park or fire up the motor and go for a drive. rolleyes

Either way stop reading the bloody papers and watching the bloody TV. Who knows, folks on here might get a bit more chilled out, have less to complain about and live longer. rofl

Funny... The Telegraph headline first thing this morning was, "Jade Goody's death brings an end to the media circus".

Perhaps somebody pointed out the irony?

I'd PMSL if it was screened on Dave - as a Dave Original.

Sad as it is when one dies, she has had more coverage than our boys killed in Afghanistan, does that tell you something............

No doubt the world will stop on the day of her funeral.
