Do you still buy a newspaper?
Discussion
One of my New Year's resolutions was to give up buying any newspaper. Easily done and I can't say I've missed my daily ration of biased, inaccurate hysterical drivel with an emphasis on celebrity goings on.
For the same reasons I think I shall shortly be giving up television as well.
Anybody else abandoned the fourth estate?

Occasionally I'll buy a paper during the week. I religiously buy the Sunday Times though.
Free commuter papers in and out of London each day, but always buy papers on a Sunday and often on a Saturday too. Mainly because the weekend papers are so much more than just 'news' and are great to spend a lazy morning with.
I get the Times delivered daily but have a strange relationship with it in that I don't use it for news, I immediately turn to the back page and read the entire sport section then try to do both crosswords then bin the main section keeping the Times 2 bit for the evening telly. So I don't read the news bit at all really, also don't watch the TV news- too depressing.
I take the Telegraph on a semi-regular basis, but only for the crossword.
Often get the Telegraph on Saturday for the crossword(s) and the motoring section (Honest John and James May).
Bought the Sunday Telegraph yesterday for something to do, but it's still sitting on the side in the kitchen, unread.
It does seem a waste of money buying something of which I use about 2%.

I read the sport in the supermarket every lunchtime. Yes I know I look like a suited up hobo.
Let me get this straight; you go into the supermarket, pick up a paper, read it, then put it back on the shelf without buying it? Saw a couple of lads do this in my local corner shop the other day and it really annoyed me.They are retail establishments, not friggin' lending libraries.

Any decent sized supermarket will have customer bogs, so pick up the "rag of choice" and head straight for the karzi, at least you can have a "sit down" whilst reading the paper!

Quite why you'd want to spend your leisure time in a supermarket, let alone the toilets of one, is beyond me?Gassing Station | The Pie & Piston Archive | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
