Anyone ever cut their own hair?

Due to the sunny wether and my hair gettin a bit long I decided it needed cutting.
But due to me being absolutely brassic at the moment I thought I'd do it myself with the clippers.

So, how the hell do you do the back of your head?
I have a mullet and my missus has threatened to leave it like this if she thinks its funny when she gets home.

Help.....all the clippers seem to do is rearrange the back of my head...they dont seem to cut it.....any tips?

Pretty tricky if you're not just buzzing it all to the same length.

If you ARE doing that, then by feel is enough to discover where you've missed bits. Particularly if you use the naked blades rather than any length guide

I haven't been to a hairdresser for years. It's easy enough with the clippers once you get the hang of it, particularly if you have a mirror in front and behind you. I usually do Number 3 all over, then 2 back and sides, and 1 right at the bottom of the neck.

She wouldn't....so I err....took it into my own hands as it were.

Ohhhh I'm in trouble when she gets in.

How about the kids? Can one of them do it? Don't have any female friends who may try it for you? (plenty of females rather like that sort of game IME).

Started doing it myself... I bic'd my head ones, g/f at the time hated it so much she whacked some aftershave on my head... Feck that hurt!!!

It's easy with clippers, just go over your whole head 3/4 times and feel for bits that are longer.

I did mine every week for 5 months with no problems, without a mirror as well.

I've been doing that and its worked on the top and sides but doesn't seem to touch the back.
Now the battery is runnin out on the clippers.

Wonder what I did with me old Wahl's.
It's going to end in a number 1 all over this I can see it.

Ive started cutting mine but just with scissors, turned out alright tbh, i was abit suprised!
Alot of freinds shave there's its not too difficult.

I trim my own hair all the time, grade 1 all the way around!

I tried to do mine a while back. It was alright, grade 3ish all over. Until I asked the ex-Mrs to tidy up the neckline at the back. I felt the clipper halfway up the back of my head shortly afterwards... Buzz cut it is then!
