How much would you want to work in Iraq?

Just had an agency touting a job in iraq, basic IT support job for NATO paying €300 a day. After saying thanks but no thanks, asked around the office how much you would want for a six month stint over there? Personally would want enough to take a sizable chunk off the mortgage. Some of the younger lads here took the number to call the chap back.

Had a look into this a few weeks back expecting very good tax free salaries but could not find anything on offer to make me look twice. £5-6k a month is obviously good money but not really enough to outweigh the risk.

Unless I read a rubbish web site and anyone can point me somewhere potentially more lucrative.....

Over £600 a day, though you can get 400-600 in London for specific roles with a lot less risk.

Basic IT here Nigeria would be circa £500 tax free/day. For Iraq I'd have thought (though not being IT) £600-650/day min acceptable as there's far more risk....

€300 is taking the piss. People are getting very rich out of Iraq, someone must be taking a very big chunk of what you should be getting.
