Out of interest - how do you know that when they say your DNA has been removed from the database that it actually has?

You can ask to be present at teh deletion, and see them do it to the records and from the backups...

The NDNAD has both a regular internal and a regular off-site back-up procedure. All transactions carried out on the NDNAD are backed up each working day. The deletion of profiles from the NDNAD would be treated the same as any other NDNAD transaction within this back-up procedure. Any record of a DNA profile will also be removed from all back-up media within 10 days of its deletion from NDNAD.

Now being cynical they COULD keep a sneaky copy...though as with everything, all will out in the end.....

And they would run the DNA, find it on the 'Deleted copy'; Traffic cops, Random serach,; stop suspect and no-body would ever know, and arrest him..

A very long time ago pre DNA samples I was took in for questioning where they did the mug shot and finger prints taken, no charges we brought so I just went down to the police station and they gave me the photos and ripped up my fingerprints in front of me. I still have the photo with a placard around my neck with the alleged offense and date.

Yes I on it already. I Tried to get it off but they don't take the word of a sheep as evidence, in retracting the statement that I had intercourse with her..

In my defence it was consensual

Might see about getting my prints removed.
I was helping the police get into a room, I wasn't being arrested.
