Crazy Day at work!
Discussion
I work in a large well known electrical outlet (Currys).
I have to deal with idiots all day, most of them think they know what they're talking about but don't.
Anyway, get this, I was doing my usual job of advising customers on which Cooker to purchase, when this woman approached me, she also happened to be accompanied by another woman of a similar age she commented that her child has pi55ed all over one of our £200 video game chairs, I know this chair very well, in fact I was using it earlier in the day to play a spot of Gran Turismo when the store was quiet trying to beat the managers record lap around the Ring.
The lady seemed apologetic and willing to clean it up, the clean up wasn't really my issue, my issue was trying to hide my laughter that was about ensue. Anyway, I have a chuckle after I walk away and think what to do.
This being my first ever encounter with such thing thought it would be best to go straight to my manager to avoid getting in any trouble. The manager says these things happen but at the end of the day this is a business and we can't exactly write of a £200 gaming chair because some kid has pi55ed on it, he told me to get her name and address in case the chair isn't working so she can pay for it.
I go back to her asking for her details, she says "how do I know the chair wasn't working before?" well duh! I was using it just this morning, even so a pi55 soaked chair isn't worth as much as a clean one! She then goes on a rant about how she came to buy a cheap TV for her mother who is going into a nursing home , essentially she refused to pay.
I was going to tell her that it won't be a good idea as the store has a very strict policy on customers damaging goods, she merely walked off leaving us to foot the bill of a pi55 soaked chair!
Whatever next?

If you find anyone that ACTUALLY knows about computers who has ever tried to buy one in Currys/PC World/Comet they will all agree that the level of knowledge of staff is laughable.I have to deal with idiots all day, most of them think they know what they're talking about but don't.
Fridge freezers really aren't that complicated.
From 45 mins of research on the Internet I can gain a level of knowledge on TV's and "HiFi" kit on a par with your average shop assistant.
Perhaps you're the exception to the rule, but 99% of your colleagues dont have a clue either.
