I've actually got one already - a stockman - but want a shorter one mainly for shooting and knocking about outside. So I'm going shopping at lunchtime.

Need some suggestions on how to get it looking good and battered quickly! My stockman is a mucky old thing that has been pawed by dogs, caught on barbed wire, scraped through trees etc etc and looks fantastic. it's taken 5 or 6 years to get to that stage and I don't want to look like a nob in my new one until it gets to a similar state!

I think I'll be rolling in mud tonight and wrestling with the dog. Might drive over it in the shogun too. hehe

Charity shops... £10 will sort you out.. if you know of friends/family out in the sticks they are the best shops to try.

Get a Schoffel - it'll keep you drier than a Barbour
