Bid on and won an eBay auction.

All too familiar scenario:- seller comes up with a story.... long-and-short-of-it, it's been sold elsewhere and I have no compunction to pursue the matter further.

How do I, 'unwind it' or remove it?

Cheers,

let ebay know and, when they fail to do anything vaguely useful, leave him negative feedback.

Did you pay for it? If not, it would be easaier to move on. You might even win another widget for less.

Report them for "seller non performance" with this link - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/seller-non-p...
If they make a habit of it, they won't be selling anything else.

Then exercise your right to neg, safe that you can not be negged back.

I didn't pay for it - not in my habit when the eBay lister had zero feedback.

I emailed and subsequently spoke to the seller on the 'phone. Just to complicate things, although I spoke to the owner of the goods auctioned and it was his name used to 'sign-off' answers to eBayers questions; he was in fact not the eBay lister - a mate was selling it on his behalf as "he knew nothing about this eBay stuff"! (Yeah right!) There was no note on the listing to state that the item was in fact being listed by a third party.

I have just received a text from the owner of the goods just a moment ago, merely reiterating the 'story' he told yesterday but progressing things no further.

Can I actually be arsed to contact eBay I ask myself?

[Note to self - Get ready for a broadside of "that just about sums this country up" replies smile ]

I listed some leftover takeaway curry which sold for £3.40 (included a full portion of rice).

However by the end of 1 week auction I was concerned that it had gone bad, so decided not to go through with the sale, for the safety of the buyer. I was worried about getting a neg, and then woke up smile
(note to self, spending too much time on ebay and eating curry)

I recently cancelled a listing with 11 bids on it that was due to end the following morning I put a Buy it now at an agreed price with someone who emailed me. This guy should have done the same as he will have to pay listing fees etc. Seems rather daft.
