Apologies for linking to the Daily Mail, but I find it offensive that buying someone a suit will make them employable. Surely those laid off due to economic conditions could afford interview clothes anyway and have valueable skills, those previously unemployed need to do some learning first.

Oh and won't the supermarkets sell you, an admittedly poor quality ill fitting, suit for about £30 now?

I presume this will include suits of the "track" variety, in order to cater for the 95% majority of Jobcentre regulars.

FFS, £300 for a suit, £600 for a laptop.......WTF is this country coming to......?

WTF

How is a new suit going to help someone if there are 100s/1000s going for the same job. As I understand it, most jobs being lost are from manufacturing(Work wear is provided in most manufacturing jobs) another way to waste my/our tax.

I'm in a similar position and in need of a new hat. £300 ought to cover it. scratchchin
