I have seen a slice of bargey loveliness which I intend to purchase within the next week.

I can lay my hands on around £1500 cash, but need to find a further £1500.

I've got credit cards with Natwest, Virgin and Lloyds, all of which have a broadly sufficient credit limit and no balance.

Am I best off swallowing the 3% cost x2 and getting a cash advance, then doing a balance transfer, or alternatively looking at a personal loan? I only want to borrow over a year, but the rates look horrific for small amounts...

Learn from someone who was on spendaholics, dont buy wha you cant afford, especially in this climate.

Hold of and save the extra.

if the rates are bad for a small amount, then get a bigger amount, and the exess you get, keep and use that to pay back the extra plus a small amount?

Surely a personal loan would be better than credit cards...

Apply for a new credit card with someone offering 0% interest for a certain time?

It's a private individual, so I would have to get a cash advance, then do a balance transfer, therefore it'll probably be a 3pc charge x2... Which I'm keen to avoid.

Bank overdraft ? Relatively cheap way of financing it if you prearrange the amount and you could repay at your own pace.

Try zorpa if your credit rating is good the interest rate there will be comparable, or get a 0% card and do the balance transfer thingy.

Best way is to get the 2 on a spreadsheet and compare total cost.

Best Best way is to save up, this isn't a big headed preachy post just a been there done the borrowing thing before one.
