It would appear that the novel Forever War is going to made into a film. The great news is that Ridley Scott is going to direct.

It should be epic, and everything that Starship Troopers should have been.

read about this the other day, went straight out and brought the book.

Fantastic read biggrin

although forever peace dragged a little.

but loving the jump gates and 5km long star ships, never knowing if the enemy will be from your future or your past.

but ill probably FF through the gay humanity sections lol

Worth buying "Armor" if you enjoyed forever war - similar tale of power armour and aliens.

I certainly hope it isnt going to be everything Starship Troopers should have been. The whole point of the Forever War is the futility of war. Thats fundemntaly what the story is about. The Forever War is a riposte to the right wing militarism of Starship Troopers.

What you want a film that misses the point of the novel by a country mile and instead delivers a trite derivative sci-fi film which bares little resemblance to the source material. Each to their own I suppose hehe

Did you enjoy that? I'm a big sci-fi fan but I have to say I found it to be pretty uninspiring derivative stuff...

Might have to dig out Forever War - I've heard of Joe Haldeman but never tried any of his stuff. Sounds like the kind of thing I'd enjoy.

not as much as enders game, but i spent 5 years waiting to get to the end, and the cliff hangers always kept me hooked.

currently waiting for the next book along from the temporal void by peter hamilton, and reading anything i can get my hands on in the mean time
